ISO 14000 Sustainable Palm Oil - Advice And Consulting For Implementing RSPO Principles and Criteria

ISO 14000 Sustainable Palm Oil is an environmental management system that we have developed for implementing the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) Principles and Criteria. It is based on an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System framework that has been modified to include the RSPO elements for sustainable development:

ISO 14000 Palm Oil Soil Conservation

· Environmental Responsibility

· Social Accountability

· Continuous Improvement of

  Performance

· Independently verify sustainability

We have recently carried out Pilot Audits of 5 plantation companies in Indonesia to evaluate their progress on implementing the RSPO Principles and Criteria and reported on the findings at RT4.

We have carried out a Case Study that emphasises the benefits of the ISO 14000 risk-based approach to environmental management and illustrates how to apply the RSPO Criteria for benchmarking continuous improvement. (To download a copy, 'Right Click' here and choose 'Save Target As')

ISO 14000 Palm Oil ConservationThe ISO 14000 Sustainable Palm Oil implementation process starts in the Boardroom with a strong commitment to a policy that embraces the principles of environmental protection, resources conservation, participatory community development and transparency.

In our work with palm oil projects over the past 15 years we have documented many cases where conservation of habitat for protected fauna has been managed alongside plantations.

In cooperation with local communities, palm oil companies have successfully excluded illegal loggers and poachers from High Conservation Value Forest (HCVF). Some of our clients are working in partnership with NGOs to carry out research for protecting endangered species.

ISO 14000 Palm Oil Nursery
Irrespective of the size, maturity or geographical location(s) of your business an ISO EMS has the flexibility for tailoring to your company's needs.

Our aim is to integrate the EMS with your existing business management and help you to better manage your non-financial risks.

The core of an EMS is the "Environmental Aspects and Impacts Register", which is compiled by carrying out an environmental risk assessment across all of your operations.

It is critical that you get this part of the EMS correct to ensure that you have considered all of the risks and rank them in order of importance for management.
